Indoor Summer
Can you believe there are people whose favorite season is summer? I myself am capable of enjoying a nice sun bath under a cool tree, but this type of heat (98 degrees F) is not something truly enjoyable. Add humidity to the picture and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. I’d rather hide in the coolest reaches of my apartment and wait out this immense heat. Doing so has, in a way, gotten rid of some of my procrastination.
Watching TV and doom scrolling can only do so much for me till I get bored and ask, “What’s next?” The art studio has a few paintings that need to be completed and there’s a giant, unrolled canvas with the plastic wrap still sealing it. I have books to read, subjects to learn, paintings to finish, and fresh, new rolls of canvas to cut and create. Even the idea of opening my art print shop has come to mind. What better time to do it all than now?
I hope summer has been kinder to you than it is in my part of the world. Although this agitating heat has confined me to the air-conditioned space that is my apartment, it has certainly bored me to the point where I begin to feel creative and get a need to paint, read, learn, etc. May this ambition carry on for a good while as I know myself and am fully aware that creativity comes in waves. Better to cease the moment now!
Make sure to stop by next time for another blog post. My YouTube channel will be documenting my journey in video form (which I also need to get back into). Till next time.
